Fall Break Roadtrip '08
Click here to sign-up online now! (**only 27 spots left open - updated 05.09.08**)
Jump on-board for the biggest, best, farthest, and funnest Fall Break Roadtrip TCBCcollege has ever done!
Wednesday, Oct 8, we'll hop on our charter bus and drive through the night to beautiful Fort Collins, CO, where we'll stay in our lakeside cabins for two days of relaxation, reflection, personal worship, time with God, nature, fun together, and just "being" - basically, taking a Fall Break!
On Saturday, you have the option of attending the Colorado State/TCU homecoming game (for an additional $40), or you can opt not to. Then Saturday night, we'll hop back on our bus and be home by mid-day Sunday, giving you time to wrap up your weekend and cram a bit for whatever you have coming up the following week! What better way to spend your Fall Break?!
Cost of the trip:
- $115 if signed up by Sunday, July 13
- $130 if signed up by Sunday, Aug 31*
- $145 if signed up by Wednesday, Oct 8 *
- (*pending availability*)
There are the basics - we recommend that you sign up as early as possible... it's also saving you $$ to sign up early! BUT, please do NOT sign up unless you know for sure that you're going. Because of the cost of the charter bus and the distance of this trip, we need a more accurate headcount than some of our "smaller" events. Thanks for understanding and helping out with that!
So spread the word, get others involved, fill up our bus with awesome folks you know, and help make this a fantastic weekend of relationship-building, amazing laughter and fun, and most importantly, spending some great, quality time between just you and God.

FAQ's:
What's the lodging like?
Our "home" for the couple nights will be lakeside cabins at the Fort Collins KOA campground. Sleeping 4-6 each, the campground offers hiking trails, putt-putt, volleyball and baseball, catch-&-release fishing, bumper boats, and plenty of open space to hang out. Some of the cabins have showers - we'll be offering those to the ladies, and some have kitchenettes, where we'll do our meal prep for the week.
What will I do if I choose not to go to the CSU/TCU game Saturday?
That's still up in the air. Fort Collins is a great little college town, so there's plenty to do just hanging out. And Jess spent a few years growing up there, so between her and our Fort Collins resident "TCBCcollege North" rep, Kailin Oliver, we'll be able to get some great ideas! We might be able to spend the rest of the day at the campground, or we're even looking into the feasibility of an hour-long trek to Rocky Mountain National Park (there will be an additional charge if we can work this out). Either way though, we figure we're in Colorado - we can find something to do!!!
What will I need to bring?
We'll work out details as the trip approaches, but you'll need bedding (mostly for twin bunks), clothes (it can get pretty chilly in October in Colorado), Bible, notepad, something to write with, stuff do do during hang-out time and on the bus, any snacks you want, towels, swimsuit if you want, a few extra bucks to spend, and any personal items you need.
Is this trip limited to TCU or current TCBCcollege students?
Absolutely not! TCBCcollege is a ministry to college-aged students in the Fort Worth area, not specifically tied to one university, so no matter what college/university you attend - or if you're not in school, you're welcome to join us for this event!
And if you're not a TCBCcollege attendee, you're more than welcome to spend Fall Break with us - you'll find a welcoming, fun group of folks who will desire to get to know you and make you feel comfortable, and you'll get to have a great time in Colorado - join us!
What's with the 3-tier sign-up cost?
As mentioned above, we need a more accurate headcount for this trip, as early as possible, than we usually need. So to be honest, part of the discount is to encourage folks to sign up earlier, so we can have a better idea of what the trip looks like. Additionally, we have the opportunity of adding a few extra spots to the trip, if we know the need early enough, but doing so would cost a little extra, and those costs would be offset by the second- and third-round prices.
To be honest, our hope is that folks already involved with TCBCcollege will know as early as possible that they want to go, and will sign up and fill the original 34 spots, so that we can open up to 14 additional spots for incoming Freshmen, new TCBCcollege attendees, and non-TCBCcollege folks as we kick-off the fall.
What does the cost of the trip cover?
Your cost covers all transportation for the entire weekend, supplies needed for the weekend, lodging and activities for Thursday and Friday, all meals and snacks from the time we get to Fort Collins through Saturday breakfast, and of course, our Roadtrip t-shirt.
What extra costs might there be?
You're responsible for meals during the bus trip (Thursday & Sunday breakfasts), and since we'll be spread out a bit, Saturday lunch and dinner. And of course, if you want to attend the CSU/TCU game, there's an additional $40 charge. Other than that, the only things you have to pay for are personal things like souvenirs, or whatever you choose to do on Saturday.
What if I want to go, but all 34 spots are filled?
We are definitely looking into the feasibility of adding spots to this event, but in order to do so (bigger bus, more cabins, etc.), we would need to know by late August that all the original spots are gone, and that there is still a great interest in going. All that to say, if the original 34 spots are filled, you still might be able to go; it just depends on when those 34 spots fill up. We would recommend signing up as early as possible, however, to make sure you've got your spot reserved!
What if I sign up and have to drop out?
Again because of the scope of this trip and our need for an accurate headcount, if you sign up, you're agreeing to pay for the trip. If you opt out later, you're still responsible for covering your cost of the trip, either by paying yourself or by finding a substitute for yourself to go on the trip. We don't want to sound mean, and we know college-aged folks love making last-minute decisions, but TCBCcollege would lose significant amounts of $$ if this happens. And that's one reason we're trying to help you out by making it cheaper if you sign up early!
