Born: 11/19/74, Fort Worth TX

Family: two bros, one sis (older bro and sis are both married); 4 nieces and 1 nephew, all under 5 years old! They all live in east TX within 2 miles of each other... I chose not to live on the "compound," as I like to call it...

Graduated from...: undergrad @ TCU; masters @ UT Austin

What I do: High School English Teacher; most recently taught grades 7-12 in northeast England (2005-'07), now teaching 10th-11th grade @ Arlington Heights HS (used to work as licensed Masters Social Worker at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, and before that with people on prison parole in Austin)

Stuff I like: Traveling, dorky stuff like reading and writing (English teacher!), movies, drinking coffee, playing tennis, cooking, and photography

Books: Pride and Prejudice, Bliackbird, Blue Like Jazz, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Night, Bridget Jones' Diary: Edge of Reason, Treasure Island, To Kill a Mockingbird, and anything by Elisabeth Elliott.

Movies: Pretty in Pink is #1, Breakfast Club, Giant, Casablanca, Foul Play, Napoleon Dynamite, Dr. Zhivago, and Fletch/Fletch Lives.

Music: love indie, folk, singer/songwriter, dance - but truly, i'm a rocker chick. I love a little thrash and the struggling local band - Radiant is a local favorite - but love bands like Lostprophets, Chili Peppers and Linkin Park, but I LOVE Damien Rice. And I can take a little Willie Nelson any day. And any 70's rock, too. Mmmmmm - Blue Oyster Cult, Doors, Jimi Hendrix.... Love them all.

Starbucks drink: Chai Tea or plain old Verona with milk. Prefer a cup of proper English tea.
