:: 10.13.08 - RESOURCES FOR YOU ::
A few of you asked over Fall Break for further resources on spending time alone with God…
My
first answer is to grab your Bible! I’ve been reading through Romans
today, and whether you spend time on one verse, or read a half-chapter
or chapter at a time, you’ll be amazed by God’s truth as it impacts you
in immensely relevant, practical ways! Second, grab a journal and a pen
and just find somewhere to be by yourself: write your thoughts and
prayers, or just talk to God, telling him whatever’s on your mind!
Finally,
we’ve assembled a great little collection of books for you in the
TCBCcollege Blue Room, which we highly recommend, and which we are
getting to you at “less-than-retail” cost. Among them are…
> A Case for Christ (Lee Strobel)
> A Case for Faith (Lee Strobel)
> Celebration of Discipline (Richard Foster)
> Christian Beliefs (Wayne Grudem)
> Crazy Love (Francis Chan)
> Desiring God (John Piper)
> Don’t Waste Your Life (John Piper)
> Mere Christianity (C.S. Lewis)
> The Ragamuffin Gospel (Brennan Manning)
> The Reason for God (Tim Keller)
> …and more
So check ‘em out; grab one or two for Thanksgiving/Christmas break/cloudy, muggy afternoons like today, and enjoy!
